(Mistissini, Eeyou Istchee – May 29, 2018) – The Cree Human Resources Development, a department of the Grand Council of the Crees (Eeyou Istchee)/Cree Nation Government, is pleased to announce the grand opening of the Waskaganish Training and Development Centre inWaskaganish. The event will begin at 10:00AM on June 19, 2018 at the centerlocated at6 Chief Isaiah Salt Road. Everyone is welcome to the Open House of the facility following the ribbon cutting ceremony.

The Waskaganish Training and Development Center is the third training facility to be built in Eeyou Istchee, providing targeted adult training needs for members of the Cree Nation of Waskaganish and the Cree Nation of Eeyou Istchee. Training programs for the Center will be driven by industry, market trends and most importantly the needs of the community, including educational needs, with select programming to be delivered by academic and professional organizations.

Celebrating the event with an official ribbon cutting ceremony will be Grand Chief Dr. Abel Bosum, along with representatives of Cree Nation of Waskaganish, Cree School Board Sabtuan Adult Education Services, Service Canada and the Grand Council of the Crees (Eeyou Istchee)/Cree Nation Government. Events during this day are free and open to the public.
