  • Who can apply?

    Cree communities, councils, recognized organizations, and Cree-owned businesses.

  • What types of projects are eligible?

    Note that at this time, Summer 2025, only the Nature fund is open. Projects that are eligible are aligned with biodiversity / nature conservation, restoration, protection and education.

  • Do I need a council resolution?

    Not mandatory, but highly recommended.

  • What happens after I submit my form?

    Your application is reviewed, then evaluated by the Selection and Steering Committees.

  • Can I get help to apply?

  • How much money is available ?

    With over $6 million already secured for Phase I, Biodiversity/Nature Stewardship there is $2.5M accessible for fiscal year 2025-26. Additional funding anticipated in the coming years, including for other programs focused on Water and Climate.

  • When can we apply / What is the deadline ?

    The Eeyou EcoFund was launched Summer 2025 to help Cree communities, organizations, and businesses lead projects rooted in Cree values, Traditional Knowledge, and environmental stewardship. Applications are accepted year-round. Project proposals will be evaluated 3-4 times a year, with the first in early Fall.
