The goal of this survey is to better understand what the existing employment needs are of our communities that can help to better align training to the needs of jobs within Eeyou Istchee. Over the upcoming months, interviewers will be calling businesses in each of the communities to conduct these surveys and ASD is asking employers to provide as much information as possible.
This information will be consolidated in the upcoming 2019-2020 fiscal year to create a summary of existing employment needs.
Furthermore, ASD and the Cree School Board’s Sabtuan Adult Education Services (SAES) have been working together to improve training offered in our Cree communities. Part of our goal is to deliver training that meets the needs of employers. Matching training with the needs can benefit your organization by ensuring you are recruiting Cree individuals that are well qualified for positions offered within your business/organization.
SAES will be collecting information from individual community members with the Adult Education Needs Assessment (ALNA). Furthermore, it will be added with the ALNA results to give an overall picture of employment needs in Eeyou Istchee.
