The Cree-Led EcoFund is a long-term initiative to support Cree-driven environmental action across Eeyou Istchee. Built through a strong partnership with the Government of Québec, the fund brings together three major programs under a single integrated platform for nature conservation, water protection, and climate change adaptation.
With over $6 million already secured for Phase I, and additional funding anticipated in the coming years, the EcoFund helps Cree communities, organizations, and businesses lead projects rooted in Cree values, Traditional Knowledge, and environmental stewardship.
