Cree Nation Youth Council hosts their 4th Inspire Hope Conference
Start Living and Stop Existing
Each year the Inspire Hope Conference is hosted in a Cree community with the aim of bringing youth together in the spirit of establishing goals, encouraging positive esteem and inspiring through stories and perspective of youth role models. This year’s theme “Start Living and Stop Existing” was quoted from the late Nathaniel Bosum, encouraging youth to live from his example while also recognizing his contribution as a youth role model.
Highlights from the Event
The three-day conference offered a unique platform for youth to hear from leaders, while emphasizing team building and self-development as a focus over the weekend. Some of the highlights from the event included:
- Special Presentations from Grand Chief Abel Bosum, Youth Grand Chief Kaitlynn Hester-Moses, and Deputy Grand Chief Mandy Gull
- Workshops for Positive Self Image, Self Care Styles, Inspire Book Writing & Stories
- Motivation and Keynote Speaking from Kendal Netmaker, Ms. Andrea McLeod, and Mr. Jordan Bear
- Team Exercises that challenge and encourage collaboration among youth
- Evening Sports, Entertainment by local artists and Youth Gala
Grand Chief's Keynote Address
